Sukla, Ananta Charan

ANANTA CHARAN SUKLA, professor of English at Sambalpur University, has been visiting professor at the Institute of Aesthetics, University of Uppsala. He is an eminent philosopher of art, religion and language, the founder editor of Journal of Comparative Literature and Aesthetics (inception 1978), an Honorary Associate of the LORO International Study Group in Comparative Aesthetics at the University of Siena, a member of the editorial Board of the Internet Journal Contemporary Aesthetics. His numerous publications include The Concept of Imitation in Greek and Indian Aesthetics (1977), Esthetica Indiana Contemporanea (1996), Art and Representation (2001), Art and Experience (2003), Art and Essence (with Stephen Davies, 2003), Sridharasvámi: A Medieval Philosopher of Religion (2010), Visvanatha Kaviraja: A Medieval Sanskrit Theorist(2011).
