Ferguson, Angela D.
Angela Ferguson absolvierte ihr Bachelorstudium in Deutsch und Französisch an der University of Southern Mississippi. Sie studierte an der University of Texas at Austin weiter, wo sie einen MA und PhD in Germanistik erhielt. Seit 2004 arbeitet sie an der Samford University, sowohl in der Verwaltung als Direktorin der Internationalen Bildung (2012-2016) als auch als Assistant Professor für Deutsch. Ihre primären Forschungsinteressen liegen in der frühneuzeitlichen deutschen Poesie, aber sie interessiert sich auch für Frauenstudien, deutschen Film, den Glauben in Deutschland (Reformation und Martin Luther, aber auch die Geschichte der Bekennenden Kirche) und die deutsche Migration in die Vereinigten Staaten. Sie ist Empfängerin eines Fulbright-Reisestipendiums und eines University of Texas Fellowship für Studien in Deutschland und hat zwei Jahre lang dort geforscht, an der Freien Universität Berlin (2000-2001) und an der Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald (2003-2004).
Angela Ferguson (PhD, University of Texas-Austin) completed her undergraduate degree in German and French at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her graduate work was done at the University of Texas at Austin, where she received an MA and PhD in Germanic Studies. She has worked at Samford University since 2004, in administration as the Director of International Education (2012-2016) and as an Assistant Professor of German, teaching and coordinating all upper and lower level German courses. Her primary research interests are in early modern German poetry, but she is also interested in women’s studies, German film, faith in Germany (Protestant Reformation and Martin Luther, but also the history of the Confessing Church) and German migration to the United States. She is a recipient of a Fulbright travel grant and University of Texas Fellowship to study in Germany and has spent two years researching there, at the Freie Universität Berlin (2000-2001) and the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald (2003-2004).
