James McGuirk (b. 1975) obtained B.A. and M.A. degrees in Philosophy at Maynooth University, Ireland, before receiving his PhD at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 2004. He has taught Philosophy at Maynooth University, the University of Stavanger, Norway, and Nord University, Norway. He was Director of the Centre for Practical Knowledge at Nord University from 2012-2017 and currently works at the same institution as Professor of Philosophy. His research interests include Phenomenology, Hermeneutics, the philosophy of action , and the philosophy of value.
